Spring Cleaning your Kitchen for the Festive Season

When you are spang in the middle of the festive season, and the comings days are going to be a blur of guests, parties, long-staying relatives and friends on vacation dropping by, its time you gave a hard and long look at the general condition of the kitchen space and the equipment.

The Kitchen, for us, is the most important part of a home, and hence its upkeep and maintenance is of paramount importance. Here are a few quick tips to ensure that the space stays that way.

Dusting the Kitchen

There is a quick way to ensure that your cleaning does not miss out on any nooks or spaces of the kitchen, and for that matter any room space that you set out to clean. It just needs you to start from the “Top” and work towards the ” Bottom”. This simply start from the ceiling (clearing cobwebs and dust/grime patches), working down towards the kitchen counter surfaces, cupboards and finally the floor – sweeping and then scrubbing it.

Cleaning your kitchen sink

All steel sinks show wonderful results with this handy treatment of filling it up with water with a pinch of soap powder and a cup of bleach. Depending upon the ‘stubbornness’ of the hard water stains and grime, you could add a little baking soda with your scrubber. Rinse and leave to dry.

Cleaning your refrigerator

Unplug your refrigerator, open all sections out. Throw away all dated food, containers. Remove all drawers, grilled sections and soak them in the sink.Wipe down the entire surface inside the refrigerator with a very mild detergent and then finish it off with a round of fresh water wipe down.Wipe the scrubbed section dividers and drawers dry before putting it back. Repeat the wipe down on the outer surface too.

Happy cleaning !
